Technological line No. 4

The pellet production shop is the final division of Poltava Mining and Processing Plant PJSC and consists of four technological lines with a capacity of 3 million tons of pellets per year each. The lines were put into operation in 1970 with a total design capacity of 12 million tons per year.

 

The development project of Technological Line No. 4 is aimed at improving the efficiency of production processes, increasing actual productivity and ensuring stable quality of pellets in accordance with modern market requirements. Special attention is paid to optimizing the operation of the main technological equipment and coordinating the modes of adjacent divisions.

Research and concept formation

At the stage of selecting the concept, a set of technical and technological studies was carried out aimed at determining the potential for production growth:

 

  • The maximum possible productivity of the technological line was determined based on the marginal productivity of the tube furnace as a key unit.

  • The technology for producing pellets has been developed and improved, with product quality confirmed by laboratory tests.

  • An audit of existing equipment and technologies of auxiliary sections and adjacent subdivisions was conducted to identify productivity and modernization reserves.

  • The scope of reconstruction and new construction has been determined to ensure that the production of CPO is increased to 24 million tons of pellets per year.

Process design criteria

For each project within the program, a separate technical task is developed that defines the main requirements for productivity, product quality, reliability, and operational safety.

 

The design is carried out in accordance with the approved technical specifications and is based on engineering calculations, analysis of actual production indicators and results of laboratory tests. This approach ensures the technical validity of solutions, minimization of risks and stable operation of Technological Line No. 4 under conditions of increased production loads.
